KDAU is certified to ISO 14001

|
KYOCERA
Document Solutions Australia Pty Ltd has achieved ISO 14001 certification
which is the international standard for environmental management systems. This
highlights Kyocera’s commitment to considering the environmental consequences
of all processes and business practices in Australia and internationally. The
achievement of this award demonstrates that Kyocera has a sustainable
environmental management strategy.
ISO
14001 certification is based on the international standards outlined by the
International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). It specifies requirements
for an environmental management system (EMS) to enable an organisation to
develop an environmental policy, establish objectives which take in account
legal requirements and other requirements to which the organisation subscribes
and information about significant environmental aspects. |
Through those identified environmental aspects, programmes and processes are established, implemented, maintained, and measured to:
- Achieve the policy commitments,
- Take action as needed to improve its performance and
- Demonstrate the conformity of the system to the requirements of ISO 14001.
In line with
Kyocera’s corporate philosophy which centres on the environment and its
long-term sustainability, KYOCERA Document Solutions Australia Pty Ltd
Environmental Management Systems relate to the environmental aspects and
impacts of its business activities, and puts a focus ensuring Kyocera continues
to act in a way which promotes recycling and reduces pollution and waste. There
is a natural synergy between ISO 14001 and our corporate philosophy. Kyocera's
Corporate Global Environmental Policy and Objectives, Initiatives, and
Achievements are published in the latest Kyocera CSR Report.
Our environmental management system ensures we now ‘dispose of less,
recycle more’ and reduce the impact of business waste on the environment. This
philosophy is also embraced in our product from design and development, through
manufacturing and testing with minimal waste and cost, the biodegradable
packaging and the final disposal of product. In addition to operating under
strict, group-wide environmental preservation measures – including ozone layer
protection, waste reduction, and energy and resource conservation – it is
Kyocera’s policy to develop products that can actively alleviate existing
environmental problems.
In Australia,
Kyocera is partnering with Planet Ark to offer ‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ take back program. This
program means 100% zero-waste-to-landfill outcome for the disposal of
customer’s print consumables and re-manufacturing of wastes. Also, for a small
fee, Kyocera will pick up printers, multifunction
printers and multifunction devices from any metropolitan area to
be recycled. It is all part of Kyocera’s commitment to environmental care.
In addition, KYOCERA Documents Solutions Australia is a signatory to the Australian Packaging Covenant.
